V. Believing – From a Secret Diary, Op. 3 [Digital Sheet Music]

Believing is the final piece of From a Secret Diary Op. 3, a suite for piano composed by Caterina Barontini. The five movements of the work (Caresses, Steps on Our Path, Namaste, Maybe Not Just a Dream, Believing) are like a deep dive into the emotional and spiritual world of the Author and tell us a lot about her sensibility. The title reflects this dimension, recalling that the five melodies of the work are like pages of a secret diary. The inspiration behind this music comes from some memos dating back to 2015-2020, characterized by a pop-ambient-cinematic style. In 2022 the Author gave new life to these tunes: she developed for them a piano texture that could give them a harmonic depth and enhance their atmospheres with the preciousness of a classical feeling.

I cinque tempi dell'opera (Caresses, Steps on Our Path, Namaste, Maybe Not Just a Dream, Believing) sono come un'immersione nel mondo affettivo e spirituale dell'autrice e nella sua sensibilità artistica. Il titolo riflette questa dimensione, richiamando che questi cinque tempi sono come pagine di un diario segreto. L'ispirazione alla base dell'opera deriva da alcuni appunti caratterizzati da uno stile pop-ambient-film music risalenti agli anni 2015-2020. Nel 2022 l'autrice ha dato una nuova vita a questi temi: ha sviluppato una texture pianistica in grado di dar loro profondità armonica e di esaltare le loro atmosfere con la preziosità di un respiro classico.
